Welcome to John's Photographs of the

Oklahoma City National Memorial
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - June xx, 2000

After visiting family at my Uncle's funeral in Kansas; my cousin, a professor at Oklahoma State University, suggested we stop and see the recently finished memorial, since we would be passing through at dusk, in route back to Fort Worth. He said this is the most emotional time to see the memorial.

At 9:02 a.m. on April 19th, 1995; the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building was desrtroyed in the largest terrorist attack in U.S. History. Key parts of the memorial designed by Butzer Design Partnership, the parts visible in the pictures are the "Gates of Time", the "Reflecting Pool", the "Field of Empty Chairs" (representing the lost lives, small chairs for the children in the day care center), the "Children's Area", the "Rescuers' Ochard" and "THE SURVIVOR TREE" all honoring the victims, survivors, rescuers, and all those who were changed forever on April 19th.

In memory to those who perished in the bomb blast at the Murrah Federal Building.
