Welcome to John's Photographs of
Hardanger Fiddle Association of
America's 2001 Workshop
Northfield and Minneapolis, Minnesota - Weekend
of August 8-11, 2001
Departing on the early 6 am. flight from DFW I was able to experience a wonderful
sunrise from the plane, which I tried to capture. Apon arrival at Minneapolis/Saint
Paul (MSP), I was greeted by my friend from last summer Dennies and we had a stop
at a local java house before we were on my way to the workshop in Northfield (just
less than an hour's drive south of the Twin Cities) location of the Hardanger
Fiddle Association of America's Workshop. (Click
here for information about the workshop).
The workshop was held at St.
Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota; which has been named "one of the
ten most beautiful campuses in the USA". A pre-workshop war up session was held
Thursday aftenoon as an optiona event which provided a review and beginner's dance
steps. Concurrently there were Hardanger Fiddle workshops going on all weekend long.
Thursday evening the HFAA participated in a public performance in downtown Northfield,
to draw interest for Saturday evening's reception.
