Welcome to John's Photographs of

Colorado Vacation

Estes Park & Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado - June xx, 2001

Thanks to the Estes Park Scandinavian Festival which invited the Norwegian Society of Texas Leikarringen to perfom, I was able to make a vacation in Rocky Mountain National Park. These are some of my pictures of my trip.

Established by Congress on January 26, 1915, the park's 416 square miles (265,769 acres) exhibits the massive grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. Longs Peak, the highest peak in the park, is 14,255' in elevation. Hiking is available on 346 miles of trails. Almost 90% of the park is managed as wilderness, making it a great place to enjoy solitude and the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains

Day One, the day started with a morning run up to the North Enterance of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Then back for a morning breakfast with my family then into the park for a day hike. Continue for many pictures along the Emerald Lake Trail.

Hope you enjoy viewing these pictures.
