Camp Brotherhood, Washington - Weekend of August 3-5, 2001

Click here for pictures of my stint in Seattle. After arriving at Camp Brotherhood on Friday, we picked up our regestration before we were off to the first dance session (which was relocated to the barn because of rain). There we started with "Over the Ocean" or "Atlantic Mixer" a mixer dance that has a wide popularity. After a short break the sun came out and we were able to be on the dance floor for Turdansar where we did "Feir fra Sandsvær, Buskerud" or translated: sweeper dance from Sandsvær in Buskerud. We then broke for dinner which was servved in the lodge. After dinner there was a social dancee and we celebrated Alex's 50th birthday.

The next morning I rose early and went running around the property, going back to the enterance to take picture of the sign. The morning session began with introductions of the committee responsible for the event, and the Norwegians of Horaringen i Oslo and the preparations of the dance floor for the morning's session.
