Welcome to John's Photographs of
2002 Trip to Seattle and the Norsk Folkedans Stemne
Seattle Area and Camp Brotherhood, Washington
- Weekend of August 9-11, 2002
These photographs are from my return trip to Seattle in 2002, which was part of
the Norsk Folkedans Stemne. After my first trip to the Pacific Northwest and
attending the workshop last year, I was eager to return agin this year. Thanks to
Ingrid, a friend who lives in Bremmerton, and her family for picking me up and showing
me around the town before and after the Stemne. Before leaving for the Stemne, Karl
took me on a daylight tour of Bremerton and Poulsbo. Below is the lodge building
of the local Sons of Norway, which they had on the wall a picture of the ship in
which my grandmother immigrated on in 1926, the NAL's Stavangerfjord. Later after
some debate as to who and when I was offto the stemne near Arlington. After arriving
at Camp Brotherhood on Friday, it was off to the first dance session. Afterwards
and before dinner it was time to pitch the tent. After dinner there was a social
dance.
