2003 Scandinavian Midsummer Celebration

The Plano Lodge of Sons of Norway, the Dallas Lodge of VASA, the Plano Swedish School and the Norwegian Society of Texas sponsored the annual midsummer breakfast and outdoor celebration at Plano's Arbor Hill's Nature Preserve. The day started with a pot-luck breakfast with VASA chiefs cooking Swedish pancakes. After breakfast there was dancing around the May Pole, kids crafts, a nature walk with a guide from the Plano parks department and games of kubb being played throughout the morning. The event ended with a tug of war between the Swedes and Norwegians. After a long battle back and forth, unfortunately the Swedes proclaimed victory.
