International Convention; Stavanger, Norway - Friday August 11, 2000

FRIDAY CONTINUED: As ther business continued and during the coffee breaks, I went sightseeing, first to Stavanger's Domkirken (Chathedral) then a quick run to the Stavanger Kunstforening to check out what they had. The business conducted included presentations for the 2004 Internation Convention (Norwegian Cruise Line's Caribbean Cruse or Washing D.C.) Late Friday afternoon, after the District 1 Caucus with the International Canidate Nominees election speaches/questions, I went to the Norwegian Emigration Center. The records of which contain virtually all the Norwegian emigrants, which means that nearly all Americans with Norwegian ancestors can find their roots here. Later everyone relived the historic moment when the sloop Restauration left the port of Stavanger carrying the first 52 emigrants which was reinacted outside the Emigration Center on the harbor.
