After attending my first Sons of Norway District One Convention in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and having the honor of being elected in Iowa by District One's Sub-District 8 (Texas) to the 2000 Sons of Norway International Convention, I was off to my first international lodge meeting and convention. The 2000 Convention was hosted by the Cleng Peerson Lodge 8-011 in Stavanger, Norway. Along with serving SofN, I wanted the opportunity to visit Stavanger once again, (this my third visit) as it was the home town of my Grandmother, Karen Elisabeth Nyman who left Norway, to visit her siblings in the States, in 1923. The following photographs are the visual documentary of my trip and the convention. I will briefly describe the events before each day's pictures, so you may follow the images and understand where the shots were taken, Click on the titles below to start to view the pictures of that day.
