MONDAY CONTINUED: After St. Olav's Church we then proceed to the Vigsnes Mining Museum. Of special significance to Norwegian and Americans because all the copper used on the Statue of Liberty in New York comes from Vigsnes. The museum which opened in 1996, primarily funded by American capital, highlights the geology and history of the area. Our guide at Vigsnes Mines was Svein Jacob Steinsland. |
