International Convention; Stavanger, Norway - Sunday August 6, 2000

SUNDAY: The day began at the convention hotel, the Radisson SAS Atlantic Hotel, with the early arrivals checking in and picking up their convention packets. The day's tour went to the Utstein Kloster, which is one of Norway's best preserved medieval buildings.

Utstein Kloster is located on a small island to the North-west of Stavanger in very beautiful surroundings connected to Stavanger by an underwater tunnel. The bus, in route to the Monastary, went through the heart of Stavanger's deep sea oil service/support area and through many of the areas ranching areas. The buildings at Utstein Kloster have been used as a royal estate, a monastery, and a manor. The tour guide for this trip was Rune Helgø, who runs a private guide service in Stavanger and was past president of the Stavanger Museum.

Be sure and continue the tour by looking at the second page of Sunday's pictures.
