TUESDAY: Gus and I said goodby to
our hostes and moved to the "official" lodging at the
Atlantic for the remainder of the convention. After
breakfast at the hotel the day's activities included the
Ryfylke Lodge #8- hosting us on a tour of Hjelmeland.
Hjelmeland is located east of Stavanger across the fjord. In
the 19th century, large groups of people emigrated to Nonrth
America from this area. More from here than almost any other
place in Norway. To start the tour we boarded the ferry from
Stavanger which took us to Tau. The weather started out
overcast and looked a little bad, but as the day went on it
got better.
